Definitions
Creators: You hold an account with SegmentOS to create, launch, and analyze market validation polls.
Respondents: You have received and responded to a validation poll powered by SegmentOS.
Visitors: You are visiting our website (segmentos.io) to learn about our services.

How We Use Your Personal Information

Contact Information (e.g., name or email address)
Whose information? Creators and Visitors.
How we use it: We use it to contact you about our services (unless you opt-out), to provide essential account and billing information, and to respond to your inquiries to our support team.
Account and Usage Information (how you use the service, what pages you click on, etc.)
Whose information? Creators, Respondents, and Visitors.
How we use it: We use this to analyze how our service is used, improve the user experience for everyone, and ensure our platform is performing correctly. For Creators, we may also use this to suggest relevant features.
Device and Browser Data (e.g., IP address, device type, browser type)
Whose information? Creators, Respondents, and Visitors.
How we use it: We use this to optimize our service for your specific device and browser, for troubleshooting, and to prevent fraudulent activity. We also infer your general location from your IP address.
Poll Data (questions and responses)
Whose information? Creators and Respondents.
How we use it: As a Creator, we store your poll questions and the response data you collect. As a Respondent, we collect your answers and deliver them to the Creator.
Referral Information (the source that brought you to our site)
Whose information? Creators and Visitors.
How we use it: We use this data to track the success of our referral program and marketing campaigns.
Other Things You Should Know
For Creators
Your Poll Data is Private: Your polls and the individual responses you collect are private. We do not sell this data to anyone. We only use it to provide and improve our services for you as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Billing Information: We use your billing information to process payments and for our own internal financial records.
Data Retention: You are in control. We do not delete the data in your account as long as it is active. You are responsible for the time periods for which you retain your poll data.
For Respondents
The Creator is in Control: We host polls on behalf of Creators. The Creator is responsible for the poll's content and is the owner (data controller) of the responses you provide. If you have questions about a poll you took, please contact the Creator directly.
Anonymity: Whether your responses are anonymous depends on how the Creator has configured their poll. We provide your responses to the Creator in an aggregated and anonymized format in their dashboard.
Improving the Service: We analyze de-identified response and usage data (e.g., looking at response rates and question types) to improve the poll-taking experience and build better features for Creators.

To help us provide our services, we work with trusted partners, including:
Panel Providers: To source high-quality, relevant Respondents for validation polls.
Payment Processors (Stripe): To securely handle payments.
Cloud Hosting Providers: To securely store our data.
